Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG, Free Nutritious Meals) is a national school nutrition programme with three main actors: the nutrition service units (SPPG) that cook the meals, the schools that hand them out, and the parents who are closest to the children receiving them. Several regions already run digital systems for the programme, with Sumedang Regency as one of the national references.
This project is an alternative concept focused on three-way participatory control between schools, parents and SPPG, rather than one-way reporting from the field to the government.
